Please watch, comment, share, look for the gifts in life's hardest experiences, and GO LOVE SOME MORE!
Is a LOVE story... Told through Storytelling, Music & Dance...
a variety show about healing & transmuting grief through movement, connection, creativity and love.
This show will change the way you think about life, love and heaven.
I created and share this show for myriad reasons. First and foremost, Marcus Lovemore was an extraordinary human. Every human dies. It's one of the only guarantees in life. But how do we live. Marcus was someone who truly lived. Even though his life was cut short by unknown ideology kidney disease, he lived life to the fullest. Every day he felt and expressed joy, gratitude and love. He used his gifts to help people. But he also used his greatest challenge (kidney failure) to not only help people, but to become the best version of himself! He inspired me every day to be better than I was the day before, while accepting me as I was on a moment to moment basis. It was extraordinary. It IS extraordinary, still. He loved me as an evolving being. With him, I got to be fully myself, fully expressed. Even though we only had nine years together, I'm learning that many people go their whole lives without experiencing love like this. The relationship we had was the relationship I always wanted... I felt so loved, seen, understood and celebrated by him. He GOT me. He had my back...
I want to share what I learned with him and from my experience with the world. Please help me.
The Debut Performance was September 26, 2020, 8pm at Modus Locus in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Rob Wang interviews Katie Strand
Here's my truth, I love interviews - both being the interviewer and ee.
It's a wonderful way to connect, and truthfully, like partner dancing, practice surrendering!
When I'm the interviewee, someone else is in charge (mostly), but it's a lovely symbiotic way of talking, connecting and sharing, first with the people involved in the interview. Then, whether live or published later, the greater world of listeners out there... another opportunity for interviewer & ee to surrender to what others think & connect with more people!
I hope you find something of value or inspiration in this podcast. I know I've had multiples & multitudes of inspiration from this interview and collaborating with Rob Wang. Thanks, Rob! You told me you learned a lot from my interview. Ditto, my friend. I like learning from and with, each other.

Liberation Through Choice - Pain vs Suffering
To help you all (who didn't know Marcus) learn more about who he was and what he taught/practiced in life. This! This video from 2011 is of Marcus teaching one of his most "important lessons"... Watching and hearing this beautiful man speak has clarified for many people how and why I celebrate and honor him and his legacy with my show...

If you're wondering (or judging - it's okay, all humans have done or do it)...
WHY on earth someone would create a show about the worst thing they've ever gone through, you're not alone.
I've wondered the same thing many, many times. Usually coupled with tears and throwing myself onto a nearby (hopefully soft if my aim is good) surface. Sometimes it's the ground.
It's NOT...
because I'm living in the past. And, it's not because I am a masochist. I'm not!
It's because the more I share this story, the more I realize how much it's about LOVE... the healing power of love, connection, and how much we all need LOVE, especially right now. Sharing this with people has this expansive quality of helping me to express, heal, move forward and amazingly, helps others do the same for themselves because they tell me so...
The more I share this story, the more people come to me, from strangers to people I've known for years, to heal and share their story of their person or loved one dying.
Sharing my story gives them permission to share... Permission to feel. Connect.
Somehow, permission is essential to feeling and healing.
About something we all will GO THROUGH! The death of someone we love and our own death...
It's ubiquitous and so important.
But we don't like to talk about it.
So, I'm talking about it. In this show. Sharing how profound, painful and transformational this experience of losing my person truly was and continues to be as time passes and I heal more and more...
And how much love (gratitude & connection) I continue to feel.
Any questions?
Love & Thanks.
When's the last time you heard someone say (or said yourself), we need LESS stories about LOVE, CONNECTION, joy & transformation??
